This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The line will pass over the Bosporus through the new Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, which cost $3 billion to open in 2016. The officials predict that the project will strengthen both passenger and freight inter-continental flows.
Tender financing and local trade plan
The Northern Railway Crossing Project will cost $4 billion. The project of Türkiye has reached out to the World Bank, UAE, EBRD, and AIIB to get potential financial aid to achieve stability and diversify partners of investment.
Authorities claim that new infrastructure will take strain off Marmaray tunnel, already taking commuters and freight trains beneath the Bosporus. Increased capacity will provide opportunities to run further heavy cargo services across Eurasia.
Bigger geographic perspective
The project also fits within Iraq’s port of Basrah to Europe Development Road initiative via Türkiye. A preliminary accord with Iraq, Qatar, and the UAE betrays its strategic significance within regional logistics.
Uraloğlu stressed the significance of the bridge role of Türkiye between Europe and Asia. He pointed to projects like the Zangezur Corridor and Middle Corridor, and their ability to diversify the basket by decreasing passability over sensitive maritime routes like the Suez Canal.
