Tatravagónka Implements Digital Monitoring for Railcars

The Slovak manufacturer will begin installing WaggonTracker telematics modules on cars produced at its Poprad facility. These devices track the condition of braking systems and pivot joints in real time.

The system also monitors cargo weight and immediately notifies the train driver of any malfunctions. This reduces operational risks and enhances transport safety.

Modern Solutions from Tatravagónka and PJM

WaggonTracker sensors are powered by a generator integrated into the axle box cover, as well as a backup battery. This ensures reliable operation under all conditions.

Data is transmitted via a secure in-train radio channel. The system is fully compatible with the DAC digital automatic coupler planned for deployment across the EU.

Through this partnership with PJM, Tatravagónka strengthens its position in the smart rolling stock segment. The company focuses on innovation and increased safety in rail freight transport.
