Tacoma Rail agreement ratified by BLET members
21.04.2026
Members of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers & Trainmen recently ratified the Tacoma Rail agreement. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

What the Tacoma Rail agreement includes?
According to the BLET announcement, the deal includes retroactive pay from 2017 through 2025. In addition, it provides general wage increases for 2026 to 2029. It also adds Juneteenth as an additional paid holiday and addresses work rule provisions.
Tacoma Rail is publicly owned. Tacoma Rail’s About page says the city of Tacoma, Washington, operates the short line. Also, it is a self-supported public utility. As reported by Progressive Railroading, the short line runs 14 miles of track. At the same time, it provides switching services for the Port of Tacoma.
Union officials addressed medical insurance in a press release. They said the coverage for BLET-represented Tacoma Rail workers mirrors that of other city employees. Separately, BLET Division 238 in Tacoma represents members from both BNSF Railway and Tacoma Rail.
“The Tacoma Rail agreement was reached after nine years of dedicated effort,” said BLET Vice President James Logan Jr.
