The L4 line enhances connectivity with 13 seven-section, low-floor trams designed for passenger comfort. These models have been serving the L1 line since 2015, proving their durability and efficiency.

Each tram uses lithium-ion batteries mounted on the roof, providing a 3.7-kilometer range without wires. This allows the trams to cross two network sections without relying on overhead power lines.

A stationary charging station at the terminal stop enables fast battery recharging for uninterrupted service. With a capacity of 400 passengers, including 76 seats, trams accommodate peak-hour travel demand.

Sydney Expands Its Tram Network for Better Accessibility

Urbos 100 trams reach speeds of 80 km/h, ensuring quick and comfortable journeys for passengers. Interiors are equipped for bicycles, strollers, and wheelchairs, providing accessibility and convenience.

The driver’s cabin includes advanced systems to detect fatigue and prevent collisions, enhancing safety. These modern features ensure a reliable experience for all commuters using the city’s expanding tram system.

The contract to supply Urbos 100 trams was signed in late 2018, meeting delivery deadlines. Manufacturers maintained high standards in quality, performance, and design for Sydney’s urban transportation.
