Spain explores India’s futuristic Namo Bharat Corridor

A delegation from the Spanish business community visited the Namo Bharat Corridor, analyzing how innovation, sustainability, and mobility are integrated in the Indian innovation system. The Spanish delegation visited the facilities of the India-based organization, NCRTC, which is reinventing regional train transport.

The Duhai Depot located in Ghaziabad is one where the delegation learned how train engineers apply automated technology and predictive diagnostics to maintain optimal train speeds while respecting energy efficiency and reducing wastage. The fact that the NCRTC is proactive over preventive maintenance means that the depot is currently the epitome of railway assets management in Asia.

The delegates boarded the “Namo Bharat” train to experience the “New Standard for Regional Transit” in India. The train is designed to provide spacious interiors, ergonomic seating, real-time passenger information, and much more, making the journey efficient and more comfortable for the commuters. The train also provides improved safety, surveillance, and facilities, allowing commuters to travel faster with greater safety on the Delhi Meerut corridor.

The officials from NCRTC showcased the multi-modal plan involving metro, rail, & bus services from Anand Vihar Station. This will promote sustainability & accessibility. The Spanish delegation was highly impressed with the Indian achievement in managing technology, urban planning, & commuters’ needs effectively.
Afterwards, the discussion in GatiShakti Bhawan revealed the long-term plans of India for the development of intelligent, eco-friendly transport, as explained by the Managing Director of the Indian agency, Shalabh Goel, who spoke about the technological growth in the areas of signaling, construction, and rolling stock, improving the efficiency of the project and its eco-friendliness, thanks to which both parties have expressed their desire to work on eco-friendly transport technology in the future.
The construction of the Namo Bharat Corridor is also reflective of the focus on developing efficient, climate-resilient, and commuter-friendly infrastructure in India. The project is an indicator of the success of international collaborations leading to the development of innovation in the field of eco-friendly transport solutions in developing countries.
