Modern HVAC Systems from Liebherr for Etihad Rail High-Speed Trains in the UAE
12.07.2024
Liebherr Transportation Systems has secured a major order to supply and service advanced HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems for Etihad Rail high-speed trains to be used in the United Arab Emirates, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

This contract represents a significant step in the development of the UAE’s first national railway network and reflects a high level of trust in Liebherr’s technology.
The HVAC systems that Liebherr will supply are designed with the region’s climate in mind.
In conditions where temperatures can reach extreme highs of 60°C and sandstorms are common, the reliability and efficiency of such systems are of paramount importance.
These systems will ensure a comfortable climate for passengers in the train cabins, maintaining temperatures below 23°C, which is especially important when the cars are fully loaded.
Liebherr’s HVAC systems are being installed by the Chinese rolling stock manufacturer CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd.
These systems feature an advanced air filtration system that guarantees cleanliness and freshness inside the cabin, as well as an innovative redundancy concept that enhances operational reliability in extreme conditions.
Collaboration with Etihad Rail also confirms Liebherr’s commitment to expanding its presence in the Middle East and providing quality services and support at the local level.
It is important to note that this project not only enhances passenger comfort but also contributes to the development of the UAE’s transport infrastructure, which in turn promotes the region’s economic growth.
Thus, the order to supply HVAC systems for Etihad Rail high-speed trains becomes a significant event for Liebherr, demonstrating its technological superiority and ability to meet customer needs in various parts of the world.
