20.02.2024
The new high-speed tunnel section planned for construction in Bavaria opens up prospects for significant improvement in infrastructure and increased efficiency of the region’s transportation system by German railways (DB), this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The project, spanning 19 km from Haigenbrücken to Nantenbach, involves almost full utilization of tunneling technology due to the hilly landscape of the area.
LTG Cargo Ukraine is increasing its freight volumes
Currently, the section between the Haigenbrücken and Nantenbach stations, belonging to the Aschaffenburg–Würzburg line, is approaching maximum capacity.
The maximum speed is 160 km/h, however, the new section will increase this to 230 km/h, significantly reducing travel time and increasing passenger comfort.
In addition, the implementation of the project will increase the intensity of freight train movement on this line, which will play an important role in the development of logistics and the region’s economy as a whole.
Increasing capacity will allow more efficient meeting of demand for freight transportation and improve the competitiveness of local enterprises in the global market.
Thus, the construction of a new high-speed tunnel section in Bavaria will not only improve the quality of transportation services for passengers but also contribute to the development of the region’s economy by optimizing freight transport and increasing the capacity of railway infrastructure.
