Škoda’s First Contact-Battery Train Begins Passenger Service in the Czech Republic

Škoda’s first contact-battery train has officially started passenger operations in the Czech Republic. It serves the S8 route in the Moravian-Silesian region, providing modern and sustainable transportation solutions. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The train is built on the RegioPanter platform, designed for adaptability in diverse conditions. Equipped with lithium-titanate batteries, it can travel up to 80 kilometers without relying on electrified tracks.
