The Skoda Group and Uzbekistan Railways have signed a contract for the supply of 30 electric trains to Uzbekistan, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.

The contract is valued at €320 million ($340.2 million).

This is the largest contract to date between the Czech company and Uzbekistan.

South Korea is set to conduct tests of a new coupling technology for low-floor tram carriages

Skoda will deliver electric trains for the 1520 mm gauge track, similar to those it has already produced for railway operators in Latvia and Estonia.

Production of these trains for Uzbekistan is expected to commence in 2024.
