Škoda Group continues to expand its presence in the electro-technical solutions market by acquiring Cegelec from VINCI Energies, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

This move will allow Škoda Group to broaden its range of products and services.

Based in Prague, Cegelec specializes in the development and production of electrical equipment for public transportation, including trams, metro, and trolleybuses. It will now operate under the wing of Škoda Group and continue its operations under the new name Electric Components.

Cegelec’s silicon carbide auxiliary converters, used in Berlin metro trains, and other developments will strengthen Škoda Group’s position in the electro-technical market.

With the acquisition of Cegelec, Škoda Group reaffirms its ambitions in the development of technical solutions for public transportation.
