Skoda Group has delivered the first electric train produced in Šumperk to a customer in the Czech Republic, this is reported by the railway transport news portal, Railway Supply.
The three-car train, RegioPanter 20 Ev, was handed over to the national Czech carrier ČD last week. This significant achievement is the result of investments exceeding €20 million in the modernization of the Šumperk plant.

The rapid growth in interest in electric mobility is evident with an order for 29 trains, 13 of which will be assembled here by 2024. This marks an important step towards more environmentally friendly and efficient rail transportation.
Skoda Group acquired the Šumperk plant in 2008. It specializes in the repair and modernization of rolling stock, and in the past, it also produced trams for the Turkish city of Konya.
