The licensed manufacturing plant has delivered the first of 40 ordered platforms for Helrom’s startup.
PKP Intercity is selling electric locomotives
The rollout is planned for April, connecting the German city of Regensburg to the Hungarian town of Leben.
Trailer Rail is equipped with a special module for transporting cargo trailers, which, thanks to a hydraulic system, opens sideways.
This innovative solution allows loading trailers onto the platform using the tractor itself.
Helrom emphasizes that this approach eliminates the need for significant investments in loading terminals, requiring only asphalted surfaces near railway tracks.
In February of last year, the German Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure approved a €15 million grant to support the project.
Additionally, in June, Helrom secured a €34.5 million credit from Deutsche Leasing Finance and Societe Generale for production development.
This move in the transportation sector underscores the importance of innovation in freight logistics and has the potential to simplify transportation processes, reducing costs and improving efficiency.
