Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy inspected the redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station and ongoing South Central Railway ventures to give a boost to transportation modernization in Telangana.

Secunderabad Railway Station redevelopment under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme

Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy attended a visit to Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad to take stock of the development of major railway projects operating under South Central Railway.

He called for early upgrading of the major Secunderabad Railway Station, one of the biggest terminals in South India.

The Minister has pointed out that the redevelopment is being done under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

This all-India project aims at upgrading the amenities for passengers and incorporating contemporary technology at major railway stations.

Secunderabad Railway Station central to Telangana’s rail development

In his examination, G. Kishan Reddy also looked at the track laid so far in respect to the high-speed rail corridors. He added that these projects are essential in increasing regional development and upgrading the infrastructure in Telangana’s railway.

The minister also reviewed latest reports on road overbridges, road underbridges, and other basic infrastructure works. He reiterated that Detailed Project Reports of new railway ventures have been presented and the Government of India remains anointed with long-term rail development.

By pushing the pace of modernization initiatives and reinforcing major corridors, the ministry hopes to accommodate future freight and passenger volumes while making corridors safer and more efficient.
