Civil works, rail systems, rolling stock and utilities will be supervised by Egis. Additionally, the consultant will evaluate design documents and compliance during construction, which will benefit from prior experience on the Riyadh Metro, the statement adds.

Upon operation, the KAFD monorail will be linked to the Riyadh Metro and provide smooth access to the district’s pedestrian skywalks. This improvement is in keeping with the city’s plans for a contemporary, green, and pedestrian-friendly city.

Officials noted that the development is designed to increase the use of public transport and minimize environmental harm, in line with Vision 2030, the Kingdom’s plan for the future to drive development and improve mobility and infrastructure in urban areas.
