The Santa Train is returning this December to entertain the families at Bodmin Railway. Tickets are already up for grabs, and organizers are encouraging parents to pre-book early as the event tends to get full early.

Passengers are taken on a scenic heart-of-mid-Cornwall route via old-fashioned steam train. Every child is personally greeted by Father Christmas, he hears their wishes, and he also offers them a Christmas gift. Being a personal experience with old-fashioned travelling ends up making this event a beloved Cornwall tradition.
Trains will run during Saturdays during December and December 22 to 24, leaving at 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4 p.m. The tickets are £17 for adults, £19.50 for adults with a baby under two, and £21 for children. Family and senior rates are also offered to ensure that everyone can attend the event.
Tickets can be booked in advance by visiting the official Bodmin Railway website. Early booking is advised to ensure that your desired day and time are booked.
Santa Train Grows with Cclusive and Merry Events
After the train jouney, families can relax with mince pies, cider and mulled wine from the Box Van Bar. They can also have hot meals, snacks and seasonal puddings in the café. They round off the winter experience with a finish.
Bodmin Railway will also have Quiet Santa Trains running on the 7th and 21st December at 10 a.m. They are special trains for guests who are accustomed to a quieter environment. Trains are dimmed, carrying less public, and have a quiet sensory-friendly environment. Due to these considerate alterations, all the family can experience the Christmas magic at their own pace.
In addition to the Santa Train, Bodmin Railway’s holiday roster is a Christmas Market and an interactive Christmas Murder Mystery. Attendees will pursue clues, grill actors, and solve the murder—a pinch of suspense to the yuletide cheer.
The Santa Train remains to blend nostalgia, community engagement, and family entertainment together, making it one of Cornwall’s most heralded seasonal events.
