Russian customs justify the delays with new regulations allowing manual inspections. These measures increase cargo clearance time, creating difficulties for logistics operators.
However, experts argue that additional inspections are politically motivated. Moscow seeks to block the supply of dual-use goods, including drone equipment.

Additionally, Russian authorities are pressuring Chinese companies. This way, they aim to discourage compliance with Western sanctions imposed on Moscow.
Previously, it was reported that the speed of RZD freight trains had dropped to a historic low. In this regard, Russian railways have returned to levels last seen in the 1960s.
