ROTRAC Tractor at InnoTrans 2024: Innovative Hybrid Solutions
05.10.2024
At the InnoTrans 2024 exhibition, G. Zwiehoff introduced its new ROTRAC tractor, equipped with advanced hybrid drive technology, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

This innovative tractor uses lithium-ion batteries, which allow it to move railcars efficiently and without emissions. The ROTRAC E1 can handle up to 200 tons, while the ROTRAC RRE30 is designed for loads of up to 3000 tons.

Key Features of the ROTRAC Tractor
The compact design of the ROTRAC E1 makes it ideal for working in tight spaces. Its 106 kW of power and a weight of 2.7 tons allow it to perform tasks that require precision and flexibility. This ROTRAC tractor can even move railcar bogies underneath the railcars, thanks to its low profile. Its coupling system, operated by a manipulator, ensures quick and easy connection to railcars.
For larger logistics hubs, the ROTRAC RRE30 is the go-to choice. It moves railcars weighing up to 3000 tons, ensuring maximum efficiency in large terminals. Both models run on lithium-ion batteries, minimizing the environmental impact and operating quietly.
How the ROTRAC Tractor Enhances Sustainability
The ROTRAC tractor’s lithium-ion battery system offers significant ecological benefits. It reduces operational costs by cutting fuel consumption and operates without producing emissions. ROTRAC tractors require minimal maintenance, ensuring consistent performance and long-term reliability.
InnoTrans 2024 highlighted the potential of the ROTRAC tractor to revolutionize rail logistics, combining efficiency with eco-friendliness. This tractor will likely play a major role in the future of rail infrastructure, improving both productivity and sustainability across the industry.
