The Škoda 16Ev electric train embarked on its inaugural journey to Dubulti and back, featuring a four-car formation spanning 109 meters, equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and ergonomic seats for maximum passenger comfort.
The project faced unforeseen challenges, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Russian aggression in Ukraine, and changes in EU legislation.
Škoda Group significantly expanded its manufacturing capabilities to overcome these difficulties and deliver the trains.
The latest train from the manufacturer is set to be delivered in mid-2024.
