Rhenus Group, a German logistics company, and Uzbekistan Railways are joining forces to manage two cargo terminals, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.

They are establishing two joint ventures to manage freight intermodal terminals in Andijan and Samarkand.

Over 70% of the main volume of purchases by Ukrainian Railways (UZ) are made through direct contracts with manufacturers

Rhenus Group commits to increasing the capacities of these terminals and boosting rail freight volumes in Uzbekistan.

According to Tobias Bartz, the CEO of Rhenus Group, the company anticipates a growth in demand for container transport along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
