31.08.2024
The restoration of the tunnel between the “Demiyivska” and “Lybidska” metro stations in Kyiv is nearing its final stage, as reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply, citing the Kyiv City Mayor’s page.
Specialists have already constructed a new section of the tunnel 27 meters long and reinforced the adjacent areas on both sides, covering a total length of over 50 meters. All internal construction and installation works in the tunnel have been fully completed.

The first test train is planned to run in the coming nights. Before this, specialists conducted a thorough inspection of the tunnel’s dimensions using a special clearance gauge.
The results showed that the tunnel’s dimensions meet the established standards.
The first test train will include a special car designed to check the condition of the new track.
The train will also begin testing the safety systems at various speeds to ensure their reliable operation.
During the night, experts will continue a detailed inspection of all engineering and safety systems. This is necessary to ensure the safe resumption of passenger train services.
Work is being carried out around the clock, and it is expected that train traffic will be fully restored within a few weeks.
On the surface part of the construction site, active work is also underway: unloading slabs and piles are being dismantled, the pit is being backfilled, and landscaping of the adjacent area is being carried out.
All these activities are aimed at the speedy completion of the project and the return of the normal operating rhythm of the Kyiv metro.
