The head of Ukrzaliznytsia, Yevhen Liaschenko, has revealed plans for the reorganization of the company’s technical vertical, according to the railway portal Railway Supply.

It is stated that the technical vertical will be separated from the operational business, and an innovation center will be established based on it.

The main goal of this reorganization is to develop innovative directions, search for new technologies, and implement the concept of TCO (total cost ownership) procurement.

“I proposed a new organizational structure, which was supported by the board and the supervisory board. It has a completely different philosophy and two fundamental changes. The first one is the complete separation of control from the operational business, so that the same person cannot order, operate, and control simultaneously. And the second one is that all strategic functions are within my direct responsibility. As an example, I am revamping the technical vertical and turning it into an innovation center. It will be subordinated to the Chairman of the Board. It is very important to create strategic development centers that think not just a month or two ahead but for several years,” said Yevhen Liaschenko.

According to Yevhen Liaschenko, it is expected that the new structure will start functioning within a few months.
