The new branch, Renfe Proyectos Internacionales, was created to expand international business and strengthen its position in new markets.
Renfe Proyectos Internacionales was established in June 2023.
The main goal of the company is to develop international business through access to new markets and centralization of activities.
The opening of the branch in the UAE is aimed at leveraging the wide opportunities offered by this market.
The UAE’s railway system is in an active development phase.
The country’s government is implementing a large-scale railway transport development strategy for the coming decades.
One of the key projects is the creation of a high-speed transportation network that will connect 11 cities across the country.
In May 2022, Renfe and the UAE’s railway operator Etihad Rail signed a memorandum of understanding.
This document laid the foundation for future cooperation in many areas.
The opening of the branch in the UAE will not be Renfe’s first step outside Spain.
The company already has branches in France, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia. In addition, it has a representative office in Brussels and a subsidiary in the USA. Renfe is also the main shareholder of the Czech company Leo Express.
Thus, Renfe continues to strengthen its international positions and expand its geographical presence, making a significant contribution to the development of railway transport in various countries.
