These electric trains will serve the route between Kolín and Ústí nad Labem. The trains have already been tested on this route, and preparations for their full operation are underway. The trains will temporarily operate under special authorization, with full certification expected to be completed next year.

RegioJet opted for CRRC train rental to replace older rolling stock. The trains from CRRC are expected to play a significant role on the company’s routes because they can operate on both AC and DC lines. These six-car trains have a maximum speed of 160 km/h and can carry up to 300 passengers.

Originally, these trains were ordered by Czech company Leo Express in 2016, but certification issues led to the cancellation of the contract in 2022. As a result, RegioJet seized the opportunity to rent the trains, ensuring faster deployment of the new rolling stock.

The CRRC trains rented by RegioJet are built with 20% locally produced parts from Czech manufacturers. This highlights the importance of local industry in the production process. The trains’ aluminum car bodies provide durability and reliability, making them suitable for long-distance passenger transport.

RegioJet plans to deploy these trains on popular routes, replacing outdated rolling stock. With the CRRC train rental, RegioJet can offer passengers modern and comfortable travel conditions. The company is also planning to expand its routes soon, significantly enhancing the quality of service on the Kolín–Ústí nad Labem line.

Thus, the CRRC train rental marks a significant step for RegioJet in modernizing its rolling stock and improving service on its routes.
