RailTel has secured a ₹32.74 crore signalling order from North Central Railway to improve track-circuit reliability at 14 stations in the Prayagraj Division by January 2028.

Work covers the Aligarh Junction–Dadri section

RailTel received the Letter of Acceptance on July 23, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. The official exchange filing⁠ values the domestic railway-signalling order at ₹32,74,50,127, including tax, and sets January 23, 2028, as the execution deadline.

The work covers the 14-station ALJN–DER section, between Aligarh Junction and Dadri, within North Central Railway’s Prayagraj Division. Associated signalling works are also included in the contract.

MSDAC will work alongside existing track circuits

Under the contract, Multi-Section Digital Axle Counters (MSDAC) will be provided in parallel with the existing Double Cut Track Circuit (DCTC) system.

Both technologies determine whether a defined section of track is occupied or clear. The new equipment will therefore add another method of train detection without removing the installed track circuits.

The filing does not state how many axle-counter units will be installed or provide a station-by-station work programme.

Completion is due in January 2028

RailTel⁠ is a Navratna central public-sector enterprise under the administrative control of India’s Ministry of Railways and provides ICT and telecommunications infrastructure. For this order, the company will deliver the railway-signalling scope for North Central Railway.

RailTel said neither its promoter, promoter group nor group companies have an interest in the awarding entity. It also confirmed that the contract is not a related-party transaction and that there was no delay in reporting the acceptance letter.

The award moves the work into contracted execution, with completion due in January 2028. The disclosure does not forecast changes to train frequency, route capacity or journey times.
