Rail ticketing app Seatfrog celebrates a significant achievement, being named among the UK’s top 50 fastest-growing tech companies by Deloitte. This prestigious accolade, awarded for Seatfrog’s impressive 662% revenue growth, singles it out as the only travel-focused brand on this year’s list.
Rail Ticketing App’s Fast Rise in Deloitte’s Prestigious Fast 50 List
Seatfrog’s app is revolutionizing travel experiences, offering British rail customers over £105 million in savings on train journeys. By making first-class seat upgrades affordable and providing enhanced travel flexibility, Seatfrog has sparked a surge in popularity among rail users.

Deloitte’s Fast 50 program remains one of the UK’s most respected business awards, identifying the 50 top-performing tech companies each year. Seatfrog’s inclusion recognizes a successful year marked by a strong partnership with rail operators and impressive growth, as over 1.5 million passengers now rely on Seatfrog for bookings, upgrades, and schedule changes within the app.
Iain Griffin, Seatfrog’s CEO and co-founder, expressed his passion for transforming the rail travel sector. “Rail travel has stagnated for decades, leaving passengers frustrated with minimal improvements,” he shared. “We’re here to change that narrative, pushing rail innovation that puts passengers’ needs at the forefront, making journeys more enjoyable.”
The award reflects Seatfrog’s commitment to enhancing customer experiences by making rail travel adaptable and cost-effective. “Our platform is reshaping the rail category, bringing in new customers and ensuring they get maximum value from each journey,” Griffin added.
Rail Ticketing Innovations Making Travel More Affordable and Flexible
Seatfrog’s services now extend across 2,400 UK destinations, where it has generated considerable consumer savings. Since launching in 2018, the app has helped passengers save on travel costs through innovative features like first-class seat auctions and discounted ‘superfare’ tickets available on select routes.
Earlier this year, Seatfrog introduced two new cost-saving options aimed at giving passengers increased flexibility and convenience. The first feature, Train Swap, offers users the opportunity to change their fixed-price tickets if travel plans shift. This option saves up to 74% of the costs compared to traditional rebooking fees, now available on Northern, Cross Country, TransPennine Express, and select LNER routes.
The second feature, Secret Fare, grants travelers up to a 50% discount when they choose a general time window rather than a specific departure time. Seatfrog then provides the best available ticket 24 hours before departure, with significant savings on popular routes, including journeys on Avanti, East Midlands Railway, and TransPennine Express.
By adding these flexible booking options, Seatfrog meets a growing demand for adaptable travel solutions that prioritize customer choice and financial savings. These features enable customers to experience quality journeys at reduced prices, helping to drive Seatfrog’s continued success.
Looking forward, Seatfrog aims to expand its reach and offerings, continuing its mission to modernize rail travel in the UK. Through its innovative approach, the app ensures passengers have a seamless and enjoyable journey that’s both affordable and adaptable to changing travel needs.
