Rail Cargo Group, a leading Austria-based logistics provider, has introduced a new freight service. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

This direct line connects Belgrade, Serbia, with Rijeka, Croatia, enhancing regional trade efficiency.
Rail Cargo Group Expands Belgrade-Rijeka Freight Service
The Rail Cargo Group line efficiently links Belgrade’s Nelt terminal to Rijeka’s Adriatic Gate. As Croatia’s busiest port, Rijeka processes 70% of Serbian trade. This direct connection aims to simplify transit, supporting faster goods movement across both countries, RCG announced on Wednesday.
Investment in LOSSAN Rail Corridor to Enhance Southern California Rail Services
RCG schedules one to two weekly round trips between Belgrade and Rijeka, with each journey taking up to 24 hours. The line provides a reliable, streamlined option for freight across borders, cutting transit times.
Rail Cargo Group Boosts Regional Connections with Transfera
In 2023, Rail Cargo Group invested in a Belgrade-based carrier company to expand local operations. This step enhanced their Serbian presence, reinforcing their regional commitment and logistical support.
Collaborating with Serbian firm Transfera, RCG launched a joint freight company focused on rail. This partnership strengthens RCG’s network across Europe, optimizing operations and extending services to new markets.
Together, RCG and Transfera run a freight line connecting Serbia and Germany through Hungary. This established route bolsters Central European trade, providing critical support for industries reliant on cross-border logistics.
Through its new Belgrade-Rijeka route, Rail Cargo Group seeks to deepen economic ties between Serbia and Croatia.
