Rail Baltica: Contract Signed for Key Section in Estonia

Estonian company Rail Baltic Estonia signed a contract for a vital railway section. The Sälja–Tootsi segment in Pärnumaa spans 15.8 kilometers. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

In July 2024, the companies agreed to build the Hagudi–Alu section. Now the deal expands the project, covering new areas.
The Sälja–Tootsi section contract considers ecological standards and nature protection. Two ecoducts will ensure safe passage for wildlife across the railway.
Moreover, the project includes overground and underground crossings for pedestrian convenience. Work on Kaisma station will start alongside the main railway soon.
The contract’s total value reaches $66.5 million, marking a major investment. Completion of 10 kilometers of railway embankment is set for 2026.
Construction of the Sälja–Tootsi section will fully conclude by late 2028. Thus, Estonia strengthens steps toward modernizing its transport network.

Work at Kaisma station will take two years, boosting regional development. Because new routes will improve links between cities and nations.
