The train was carrying a total of 232 passengers in eight executive coaches, one dining car, and one power car. However, there were no reported injuries, which was a relief. The KAI company quickly responded by sending their emergency team.

The Public Relation Manager of Pierebesaran CV stated that the train crew noticed the separation just after they crossed the area. The train crew of KAI was reported to work incessantly in making the train track clear.

Purwojaya Train Refund Policy and Passenger Guidance

Because several routes were canceled, KAI promised a 100 percent refund of ticket fares, excluding minor administrative fees, for those who preferred not to reschedule. Passengers can request refunds via the Access by KAI app, the company’s official website, or by contacting the 121 hotline.

KAI reminded passengers of the need to verify updates prior to going to the station. Meanwhile, despite ongoing maintenance work, the train operator insisted on its commitment to safety, reliability, and passenger communications.

The accident exposed Indonesia’s infrastructure issues with an increase in passenger traffic and ever-unpredictable weather. However, train service provider KAI’s quick reaction, publicity, and offer of compensation showed professionalism in handling the incident.
