The estimated total cost for smaller trains is €380 million, while larger ones will cost €280 million. Funding will come from the national budget and EU funds, providing crucial financial support. Currently, French company Alstom and Polish firm Pesa are working on large contracts to supply electric trains in Romania.

To execute the contract for the purchase of new regional electric trains, the government plans to secure European funding. This project aims to improve Romania’s transportation infrastructure and enhance passenger service quality.

Acquiring new regional trains will help provide more convenient and reliable transportation connections across Romanian regions.
