Notably, the design of the wagons, as before, was entrusted to the Australian company UGL. These platforms are intended for various types of cargo, expanding KiwiRail’s ability to serve key sectors of the country’s economy.
To date, PT Inka’s total supply of various platforms, including those used for transporting timber, already represents a significant volume.
This year, the total number of rolling stock units delivered to KiwiRail will reach 712, highlighting the strong cooperation between the two countries.
With this project, KiwiRail will significantly enhance its transport capabilities, which will have a positive impact on logistics and the efficiency of transportation across the country.
A key role in this project is played by the flexibility of the fitting platforms, which makes them versatile for transporting various types of cargo, including containers.
This enables KiwiRail to increase the speed and reliability of deliveries. In turn, PT Inka reaffirms its status as a reliable international partner, providing high-quality products to its clients.
The signing of the contract with PT Inka is part of KiwiRail’s fleet modernization strategy.
The new equipment is expected to improve both domestic and international transportation, ultimately boosting the rail carrier’s competitiveness on the global market.
The modern platforms, designed by UGL, are adapted to the requirements of transportation in New Zealand, allowing them to be optimally used on various routes and in different climatic zones across the country.
