Length of railways in China

The length of railways in China has reached an impressive 155.5 thousand kilometers, including 43.7 thousand kilometers of high-speed railways (HSR), this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Investments in transportation development for the first 11 months of 2023 amounted to 640.7 billion yuan, surpassing last year’s figures by 7.4%.
Railway transportation between Turkey and Iran is growing
In December 2023, the first high-speed train route from Jinan to Zhengzhou was launched, and the Lijiang-Shangri-La line was also opened.
In the southwest of the country, a section of the high-speed railway from Sichuan to Qinghai has been put into operation.
Construction is concluding for railway lines in the western part of China, including preparations for the Yanyan-Yulin HSR and the Huantun-Baise railway projects.
China’s railway priorities include improving infrastructure, enhancing construction efficiency, and ensuring quality.
