By getting contractors involved sooner rather than later in planning, realistic realities and improved utilization of resources result. Due to this collaboration, work proceeds smoothly and passenger disruption remains to a minimum.
The strategy reflects Deutsche Bahn’s new model of contracting in ERTMS. The two railways deflect fragmented tenders from unstable pacts to steady deals that bring about stronger results and improved industry results.
Sustainability and effectiveness in developing railways
Contractors have stable workloads from which to train personnel and invest in vehicles. ProRail receives partners that have end-responsibility for results and an emphasis on quality rather than low bids.
Simone Vooijs, Project Director, affirmed this strategy renders the Dutch network more sustainable. And as cooperation becomes stronger, ProRail is furtheramped to meet future mobility challenges.
