Delivery is expected by the end of 2025, allowing VLI to enhance its logistics and operational efficiency.
The EMD SD70ACe-BB locomotives boast an impressive 4300 horsepower and can reach speeds of up to 110 km/h, making them an ideal choice for freight transport in the region.
This isn’t the first time VLI has turned to leading global locomotive manufacturers to update its fleet. A year ago, the company also signed a contract with Wabtec for the supply of 9 ES-43BBI locomotives worth 200 million reais.
These machines will operate on the Eastern Corridor of the Central Atlantic Railway, serving the Port of Vitória and ensuring reliable cargo transportation.
Brazil continues to invest in developing its railway infrastructure, and such contracts are a crucial step in this direction.
They not only contribute to modern logistics but also foster economic growth in the region by providing more efficient and reliable cargo transportation.
