American company Progress Rail, a subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc., has signed a five-year contract with the UK rail infrastructure operator Network Rail for the supply of turnouts and rail crossings, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The agreement was signed at the international exhibition InnoTrans 2024, marking a significant step in strengthening cooperation between the two companies.

The equipment will be manufactured at Progress Rail’s plants in South Queensferry and Nottingham, highlighting the company’s commitment to local production in the UK.

The company also hopes to expand its partnership with Network Rail in the future, including not only supplies but also joint development of innovative solutions for railway infrastructure.

Progress Rail has already established itself as one of the leading suppliers of railway equipment, including locomotives.

In 2021, the company supplied 16 SD70ACe/LW-4101 diesel-electric locomotives to Mongolia, and in 2024, it signed a contract with Brazilian operator VLI Logistics for the supply of eight EMD SD70ACe-BB locomotives.

These examples demonstrate international recognition and trust in the quality of Progress Rail products.

The contract with Network Rail emphasizes the company’s commitment to further strengthening its position in the European market.
