ILF Consulting Engineers Austria and Abkons have been selected to conduct the technical and economic feasibility study for this railway project, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The project involves the construction of a railway line

The 14-month project includes the development of a comprehensive plan with an estimated cost of around 700 million euros.

€50 million for the repair and modernization of Ukraine’s port infrastructure

Financing will be provided by the governments of both countries.

Two route options, connecting to the Durres — Shkoder line, are under consideration, providing connectivity over distances of 137 km and 125 km.

Construction is scheduled to commence in 2025.
