The project aims to enhance transportation services and the competitiveness of rail transport. The bidding process is expected to conclude by 2026, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2028.

How Will the Acquisition of Passenger Railcars Transform Infrastructure?

Previously, in 2016, passenger railcars for SRT were supplied by CRRC. This demonstrates that collaboration with major suppliers helps achieve high results.

At the same time, Thailand is actively developing domestic capabilities in railcar manufacturing. This effort supports the national economy and creates new jobs within the country.

The acquisition of new railcars will be part of SRT’s modernization strategy. The project aligns with global standards and will positively impact the transportation sector.

The initiative will also support Thailand’s tourism development, offering travelers more convenient conditions. Thus, the modernization of transportation infrastructure will improve service quality.
