The authorities of Kyrgyzstan plan to build a railway from Balykchy to Karakol, which will run from the northwestern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul to the southeastern shore, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Construction of Railway in Issyk-Kul

This was announced by President Sadyr Japarov during his visit to Balykchy.

According to him, the first stage involves the construction of a railway branch from Balykchy to Issyk-Kul Airport, located in the village of Tamchy.

The president did not disclose the expected timeline for the project, its scale, or sources of funding.
