The Ukrainian government has allowed Ukrzaliznytsia to pay for French rails, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
At a meeting on February 2, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine permitted Ukrzaliznytsia to pay off the credit provided by France for the purchase of rails using funds from freight transportation organization.
This was reported by the Permanent Representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, in his Telegram channel.
The corresponding changes have been made to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated July 25, 2023, No. 776 “On the issue of directing and using funds provided in accordance with the Framework Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the French Republic on financial support for the rail supply project to the joint-stock company “Ukrainian Railways”.
“The joint-stock company ‘Ukrainian Railways’ ensures the fulfillment of its obligations to service and repay the subloan for the implementation of the rail supply project to Ukrzaliznytsia by pledging property rights at the request of payment under contracts (agreements) for the provision of services for the organization of cargo transportation by rail by Ukrainian Railways, the appraisal value of which is at least 150% of the amount of debt obligations,” the message says.
