Key project activities include installing platform screen doors at stations, depot modernization, and establishing control centers.

The project also includes delivering 53 five-car trains for Line C and 16 trains for the under-construction Line D.

Line C currently operates a fleet of 53 M1-type trains, delivered between 2000 and 2003. These ČKD-made trains will be replaced with new, modern units.

Additionally, the project involves supplying 16 trains for Line D, which is still in the construction phase.

The final tender results are expected in October 2025, with new trains entering service starting from 2029.

The contract also includes 35 years of train maintenance, ensuring smooth metro system operations.

DPP anticipates that automation will reduce train intervals to 1.5 minutes, greatly improving passenger comfort and speed.

There are also plans to increase Line C’s capacity by 20%, making the metro more efficient and accessible for all Prague residents and visitors.

This project will not only make metro travel more convenient but also improve the city’s environmental impact by reducing reliance on personal vehicles.

Prague is moving towards the future, providing modern and efficient transportation solutions for everyone who lives in or visits this beautiful city.
