Grain shipments from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan by rail have increased by nearly a quarter, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Railway grain shipments

In the first ten months of 2023, Kazakhstan Railways transported 7.7 million tons of grain across the border.

This is 1.73 million tons or 29% more than the previous year.

Grain shipments increased:

  • to Uzbekistan – by 24%
  • to Tajikistan – by 9%
  • to Turkmenistan – by 78%
  • to russia – by 56%
  • to Kyrgyzstan – doubled
  • to China – tripled
