Ports inform about increased traffic of ore and oil
In January of this year, SE “MTP” Yuzhny “increased the volume of processed ore by 18% compared to last year. The State Stevedore actively cooperates with the Yuzhny and Ingulets mining and processing enterprises. In general, the transshipment of export cargo increased by 19% compared to 2020, informs Railway Supply magazine with reference to the press service of the Yuzhny port.
During the last month, 21 vessels were handled at the berths of the SE “MTP” Yuzhny “. This figure is 31% higher than last year’s result. Three vessels with components for wind turbines were processed in January. The enterprise operated normally, despite unfavorable weather conditions.
In addition, a 9-fold increase in oil transshipment was reported at the Odessa seaport.
According to the operational information of the main dispatching office of the Odessa branch of the State Enterprise “Administration of the Seaports of Ukraine”, the volume of oil and oil products transshipment in the port in January is 117 thousand tons, which is 915.3% more than in the first month of 2020. Such a large growth is explained by the fact that in January the large-capacity tanker Flavin (Malta) visited the Oil Harbor and brought 85.13 thousand tons of Azerbaijani oil for the Kremenchug refinery.
