Container volume and cybersecurity update

The port also unveiled a new cyber defense operations center in April. Officials said the facility is equipped with enhanced technology for 24/7 cybersecurity monitoring. It also supports defense of the data networks that are critical to port operations, as Progressive Railroading reported.

On average, the Port of Long Beach blocks or stops an attempted cyber attack every three seconds. In addition, officials said the new center enables the port to double the number of on-site staff focused on digital supply chain defense.
