In June 2024, the company announced a significant increase in the number of multimodal routes where customers can track their cargo in real time using the Transporeon platform.

New Zealand is investing $284 million in railway transport by 2024

The Transporeon platform, developed by the eponymous company which is part of the American corporation Trimble, not only tracks cargo but also calculates the carbon dioxide emissions during transportation.

This feature is implemented as part of the European Union’s CountEmissionsEU initiative, aimed at reducing the carbon footprint in the transport sector.

Rail Cargo Group has been implementing the Transporeon platform since March 2023.

During this time, the cargo tracking feature has been successfully tested on pilot routes connecting Germany, Austria, and Italy.

Now, the company’s customers can monitor the progress of their cargo in three major transport corridors.

The first corridor, the Eurasian corridor, includes three routes that connect Belgium, the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and Central Hungary with Western Turkey.

This is a strategically important route that optimizes logistics between Europe and Asia.

The second corridor, the Central European corridor, includes three routes that connect North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony in Germany, as well as Eastern Austria and Hungary with Venice in northeastern Italy.

This corridor strengthens ties between key economic regions of Central Europe.

The third corridor, the East-West corridor, includes two routes: one connects Central Serbia with North Rhine-Westphalia, and the other connects Western Romania with Belgium.

These routes improve logistics flows between Eastern and Western Europe, supporting the economic integration of the regions.

The expansion of real-time cargo tracking capabilities provides RCG’s customers with significant advantages.

They can more effectively plan their logistics operations, respond promptly to any changes, and receive up-to-date information on the status and location of their cargo.

In addition, the carbon dioxide emissions calculation feature allows customers to assess the environmental impact of their shipments and take measures to reduce it.

Thus, Rail Cargo Group demonstrates its commitment to innovation and sustainable development.

The integration of digital technologies into logistics not only improves the quality of customer service but also contributes to achieving carbon footprint reduction goals, which is especially important in the context of global climate change.

The implementation of the Transporeon platform and the expansion of multimodal routes are important steps towards more transparent and eco-friendly logistics.

Rail Cargo Group’s customers gain the ability to not only track their cargo in real time but also make informed decisions that promote the sustainable development of their businesses.
