Previously, this process was carried out at several sites outside the main production area, which increased the time required to release new equipment.
The construction of the new facility will enable the company to optimize production processes and accelerate work.
It is expected that this will increase efficiency and shorten the production time of machines.
The company will invest over 60 million euros in the project. The new facility will feature 15 assembly stations and four sidings, significantly simplifying logistics.
The new workshop staff is expected to number around 180 people. The opening of the facility is scheduled for early 2027, after which the company will be able to increase production volumes for railway infrastructure.
In October last year, Plasser & Theurer also expanded its production capacity in the United States by opening a new assembly plant in Chesapeake.
The area of this facility is 7,600 m², and its staff counts 75 employees. The investment in the project amounted to 32 million dollars, which helped the company strengthen its position in the American market.
The new facility in Linz will be an important step in strengthening the company’s position in the global railway equipment market.
Investments in production modernization will allow Plasser & Theurer to respond faster to customer needs and offer more efficient solutions for railway track construction and maintenance.
