PKP Intercity Remtrak to refurbish over 300 carriages for PKP Intercity

PKP Intercity has signed a contract for the periodic maintenance of 330 carriages with the subsidiary company, PKP Intercity Remtrak, according to the Railway Supply portal, citing Nakolei.
As part of the contract, the parties have also agreed on the principles of periodic inspections to ensure the high efficiency of the carriages.

The modernization will be carried out, among other places, at the Idzikowice plant, with the contract’s total value amounting to 214 million Polish złotys.
The contract signed by PKP Intercity is another step in maintaining the high efficiency of the trains.
The contract covers the periodic maintenance of 330 carriages of the fourth round of technical servicing (R4).
The work will not exceed 12 months from the date of contract signing.
As part of the modification of existing functionalities, in addition to planned maintenance, PKP Intercity Remtrak will modify the passenger information system in 159 carriages and upgrade the air conditioning system with UV lamps in 194 carriages.
The contract between the carrier and rolling stock maintenance plants also includes periodic inspections of the carriages every 18 months of operation or upon reaching the mileage specified in the documentation (DGU).
