Hydrogen Train: India’s First Green Rail Revolution
Each X’trapolis Train can reach speeds of 145 km/h and carry up to 551 passengers. The trains, 82 meters long, feature 204 seats designed for maximum passenger comfort during journeys.
Thirty-one of these trains will operate using hybrid power systems with batteries, enabling up to 80 kilometers of travel without overhead lines. The remaining six trains will function solely on overhead electric networks, offering cost-effective and sustainable operations.
Cutting-Edge Maintenance for the X’trapolis Train
The agreement with Alstom includes a long-term maintenance plan for 37 trains over 15 years. Advanced systems like HealthHub and TrainScanner ensure reliable performance while minimizing maintenance downtime.
Irish Rail is also introducing driver simulators that replicate real operating conditions, enhancing training and improving safety across the network. This investment demonstrates the company’s commitment to quality service and operational excellence.
The Role of the X’trapolis Train in Ireland 2040
The X’trapolis Train plays a vital role in the Ireland 2040 initiative, aimed at modernizing public transportation. With eco-friendly technology and efficient design, these trains contribute to reducing emissions and improving sustainability.
Combining innovative features and advanced design, the X’trapolis Train enhances both safety and passenger comfort. Irish Rail continues to focus on improving Dublin’s transportation infrastructure through sustainable solutions.
The introduction of the X’trapolis Train symbolizes a new era in public transport for Dublin. This project paves the way for a greener, more efficient, and user-friendly transportation system.
