The first electric locomotive 2ES6A should be produced by the end of 2021. «Ural Locomotives» (part of STM) started to manufacture its prototype.

The locomotive bogie frame was welded on the robotic complex, reports Railway Supply magazine, citing tzdjournal.
The geometry of the bogie frame of the new electric locomotive differs significantly from the serial 2ES6, 2ES10 and 2ES7 due to a different design of the wheel-motor unit and a change in the method of its fastening.
Ural Locomotives have started the pilot assembly of units for the 2ES6A electric locomotive
Earlier, the manufacturer noted that it plans to test the 2ES6A in 2022, and begin its serial production in 2023.
