“Ukrzaliznytsia” intends to modify the conditions for repositioning wagons, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.

This information was announced during a meeting with representatives of railway carriers from Romania and Moldova on September 26.
Valeriy Tkachov, Deputy Director of the Commercial Department of PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia,” noted that in the near future, the 1520 mm gauge wagons owned by the “Center for Transport Logistics” (CTL) branch are underutilized because there is an oversupply of rolling stock in the market.
Therefore, “Ukrzaliznytsia” plans to actively use CTL wagons for export transportation through border crossings with a change to the 1435 mm gauge.
Valeriy Tkachov clarified: “In the near future, we will begin the process of changing the bogies and use the existing bogies only for repositioning CTL wagons. At the same time, owners of private wagons can manufacture 1435 mm gauge bogies for their own needs (PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” has the corresponding technical solution at several wagon repair plants) and can install their bogies under their own wagons.”
“Ukrzaliznytsia” plans to maximize the use of more than 3,000 bogies for repositioning and using the wagons of the CTL fleet.
