Parallel Systems Project Enters Field Testing Phase

U.S. startup Parallel Systems, founded by former SpaceX engineer Matt Soule, has received approval from the Federal Railroad Administration. The company submitted its application back in 2023.

The tests will take place on a railway line running from the coastal port to several cities within Georgia. The total distance of the route is about 260 kilometers.

Parallel Systems is developing autonomous freight platforms powered by electric batteries. These units can self-couple and uncouple, simplifying freight operations.

The system features electronic braking technology with a backup mechanism. This enhances rail grip and increases braking performance.

The technology is fully compatible with existing railway infrastructure and train control software. This allows full-scale field tests without requiring major line modifications.

Each platform has a range of up to 800 kilometers on a single charge. A full battery recharge takes no more than one hour, minimizing operational downtime.

Parallel Systems Plans Full Launch by 2026

Parallel Systems emphasizes that the project is not intended to replace traditional freight trains but to supplement short-haul logistics.

The platforms are expected to reduce costs and improve delivery speed on mid-range routes.

Matt Soule highlights that the system’s modular structure easily adapts to evolving market demands. This ensures high flexibility in freight transportation.

If the tests prove successful, the company plans to launch commercial operations in 2026.

Parallel Systems is focusing on sustainability, autonomy, and integration with existing technology.
