Pakistan Railways Teams Up with PITB to Boost Digital Transformation

Pakistan Railways has partnered with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to advance its digital strategy and modernize national railway services through innovative technology solutions. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The Pakistan Railways delegation, led by IT Director Syed Ali Raza, met with PITB to explore collaboration and review digital integration opportunities. Officials Abdul Qayyum, Khurram Shahzad, and Syed Zafar Gilani also attended.

Pakistan Railways Targets Tech Upgrades Through PITB Support
Raza presented a detailed overview of the department’s tech-driven roadmap, focusing on automation, real-time systems, and smart passenger services. These initiatives aim to improve speed, reliability, and operational transparency.
PITB’s team, led by Additional Director General Syed Qasim Ifzal, responded with presentations on successful digital governance tools. Joint Director Arsalan Manzoor shared models applicable to railway modernization.
Both teams discussed integrating existing infrastructure with Pakistan Railways’ evolving technology needs. During a guided tour of PITB’s Data Center, they reviewed system architecture and evaluated interoperability prospects.

Chairman Faisal Yousaf of PITB emphasized the importance of secure, scalable tech frameworks for public institutions. He expressed confidence that this alliance could significantly upgrade railway efficiency and public service delivery.
